The Kuraray™ Advantage: Spall vs. Non-Spall
We utilize Kuraray Spallshield® CP liners to offer two distinct levels of rear-side protection:
Non-Spall (NS) – Total Protection
- Technology: Features a multi-layer construction ending with a Kuraray Spallshield® internal layer.
- Performance: In the event of a ballistic strike, the glass shatters to absorb energy, but the Spallshield® liner prevents any glass fragments from ejecting into the protected area.
- Benefit: Zero secondary injury to occupants. Ideal for VIP transport, embassies, and small panic rooms.
Spall (S) – Balanced Security
- Technology: Standard multi-ply laminate construction.
- Performance: While the bullet is stopped, small glass fragments (spall) may be ejected from the rear face of the glass
- Benefit: Provides the same ballistic stopping power as NS at a more economical price point. Ideal for unmanned guard posts or high-value asset protection where personnel are not in immediate proximity.
